Privacy Policy

The Dad Diaries is written and run by Joseph Tito under JEO Publishing, based in Toronto, Canada. If you want to talk to a human about your data, email info@jeopublishing.com.

When you type your email into a sign-up form on this site — the footer, the free guide, or any other form — that address goes into Mailchimp, the email platform I use to send the newsletter. Mailchimp stores it on my behalf and processes it under its own privacy terms.

What I collect: your email address, and the name if you give me one.

What I use it for: sending you the newsletter, and delivering whatever free guide you signed up for. Nothing else.

Mailchimp records ordinary email metrics — whether a message was opened, whether a link was clicked. I look at those to work out which stories land. I do not use them to build a profile of you.

Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Click it and you are removed immediately. You can also email me and I’ll delete you from the list myself.

Payments run through Stripe. Stripe collects your name, email, shipping address and payment details, and processes them under its own privacy policy. I never see or store your full card number.

What reaches me is what I need to post you a book: your name, shipping address, email, what you ordered and any inscription you asked for. I keep order records for tax and accounting purposes, as I’m required to.

This site is hosted on Vercel, which logs basic request data such as IP address and browser type as part of running any website. Where analytics are used, they are aggregate page-view counts — how many people read a story — not tracking of individuals.

I do not run advertising pixels or sell data to ad networks. Embedded content from third parties (Instagram reels, YouTube videos) can set their own cookies once you interact with it; that is their doing, under their policies.

Only the services that make this thing work: Mailchimp for email, Stripe for payments, Vercel for hosting, and the postal and courier services that deliver books. I do not sell, rent or trade your information to anyone, ever.

You can ask me what I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email info@jeopublishing.com and I’ll act on it within 30 days. If you are in the EU or UK, that includes your GDPR rights to access, correction, erasure, portability and objection. In Canada, PIPEDA applies.

The one exception: I have to keep order and tax records for the period the law requires, even after you ask to be deleted from the mailing list.

This site is written for adults. I don’t knowingly collect anything from children under 13. My daughters appear in my writing because they are my life — but nothing on this site is designed to collect data from children.
